ESET 0253 Introduction to the Smart Electric Power Grid 2 credits

Overview of the technologies used in Smart Grid to enhance reliability, security, robustness and efficiency of transmission and distribution systems. The course addresses advanced metering infrastructure, home-area networks, micro-grids, real-time pricing, plug-in hybrid vehicles, demand response, and load curve shaping. Included is an in-depth look at the Smart Grid’s benefits and potential impact on our energy consumption. COREQ:  ESET 0254, ESET 0255, ESET 0256, ESET 0257,  ESET 0258, and ESET 0259.
