SFS Students take NICCDC Virtual

    In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 format was a little different.

    In 2020, the importance of the NIATEC Invitational CyberRange Challenge expanded to a virtual format to allow teams to participate remotely in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Thirteen teams from seven schools registered in November 2020. The top three teams: 1st place - University of Central Florida, 2nd place - Utah State University, 3rd place - Brigham Young University. Universities and Colleges competing included:

    University of Central Florida
    Weber State University
    Utah State University
    Brigham Young University
    Brigham Young University-Idaho
    Ensign College
    College of Idaho

    The Idaho National Guard, contributed to the NIATEC Invitational CyberRange Challenge effort by offering personnel to act as Red Team members to test their network and computing acumen and challenge student participants.

    The NIATEC Invitational CyberRange Challenge is conducted via locally raised funds as a NIATEC effort. All materials used to build and design the competition are either donated by charitable patrons or obtained by NIATEC staff.
